If you register for a course or program, subscribe to our mailing list, or submit a “contact us” form, we may ask for your name, email address, street address, phone number and/or information on your writing experience or how you located One Lit Place. This information is used by One Lit Place exclusively so we may optimize your experience and improve our site, customer service, and services we offer. Your information is not shared with any other party or organization.
By choosing to add your email address to the email list, you are agreeing that you would like to receive announcements or information. You may unsubscribe from receiving future emails at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email or you may email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request we remove your email address from our mailing list.
By joining the Writers Lounge on Facebook, a private moderated group, you agree and acknowledge that your profile and all information, content, and posts will be visible to all members of the closed group. All activity on the One Lit Place Facebook business page or in the One Lit Place closed group will be governed by the Facebook Terms of Service. We encourage you to use caution when revealing personal information, and you acknowledge that you are responsible for any loss of privacy or other harm resulting from your voluntary disclosure of personally identifying information.
Your Payment Information
All billing and payment processing is submitted directly through Paypal or Stripe, or through your banking website. One Lit Place is not affiliated with PayPal or Stripe and does not share information or receive information from Paypal or Stripe and has no affiliation with any bank.
The One Lit Place website’s network and server employ security measures to protect the server and network integrity. The application is protected from malware and is scanned regularly for potential vulnerabilities, which are removed immediately if found. Despite such security measures, you acknowledge that a breach may still occur. You take responsibility for the possible loss or appropriation of any information you post.
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
